In this workshop, we introduce students (5th - 8th grade) to the world of robotics engineering. Our course is prepared using the Lego Mindstorms EV3 kits, and offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in robotics. In this workshop, students can learn to build and program robots. Once they understand the basic concepts by using these kits, they can create amazing projects with robots that can do almost anything they want.
In these sessions, kids learn to create a basic drivetrain, attachments, and program a robot to complete a given challenge. Students will work in groups, which encourages cooperation and peer-to-peer interaction.
Note: This course is designed for kids with no experience in lego robotics, or robotics in general.
These workshops consist of three to four sessions. Each session builds on the concepts learnt in the previous session. Our volunteers spend a lot of time preparing and teaching the workshops. The Lego Robotics kits are a byproduct of some generous donations. Please sign up only if your child can attend all the sessions. If you sign up and don't come for one or more sessions, you are taking the opportunity away from another student who can benefit from the workshop.
